Join the Friends!
WHAT WE DO
By hosting events throughout the year, we raise funds for the Malden Public Library.
We meet on the SECOND TUESDAY OF THE MONTH at 7pm. Come join us!

At our meetings, we plan our events and grant the Library’s “wish list” to pay for items that include the MPL's museum pass program, craft supplies for children's and adult activities, snacks for movie nights, high-demand best-selling books, infrastructure such as Wi-Fi and computer equipment, online language learning programs...

Membership
Your membership helps to pay for Library resources and programs such as activity supplies, event snacks, Museum passes, furniture, and books. Members are invited to participate in all of our events.
Malden has been recognized this year as one of the most diverse cities in Massachusetts and the Friends is committed to reflecting this diversity in our organization. We are looking for people to join the Membership Committee to grow the Friends and make this a reality!
Get Involved
Volunteers
All members are invited to take a more active role in the Friends. We are always looking for new ideas to raise funds for our Library, respond to our community's needs and continue to grow. Come to our meetings to participate in the creation and planning process. Our volunteers are essential to make our events happen. Whether it means working at a book sale, the wine-tasting event or the Winter concert, you are invited to get involved with a fun group of people, dedicated to supporting the MPL!
Support Our Fundraisers
Events
Haven't joined the Friends yet, but still want to help support the Library? Come to our events! Events include our not-to-be-missed seasonal Book Sales and other events such as our wine-tasting event, Halloween Book Treat event and our Winter concert in December. Our 2023 Book Sales include a special surprise - come by and have a coffee at the New England Coffee Co. truck or table - all donations will go to the Friends.
We are looking forward to planning more in-person events in 2023 and 2024!
