This year the Friends of the Malden Public Library in partnership with the DPW and Highland Shredding of Woburn is sponsoring a paper-shredding service on Saturday April 27th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the DPW yard at 356 Commercial St. The price is $5.00 per brown grocery bag full of paper. All proceeds will fund programming and materials for the Malden Public Library.
Enjoy a selection of wine and other beverages, food from area restaurants, and a chocolate buffet at the Malden Public Library, 36 Salem St., Friday May 3rd 7-10pm. The event is held in the beautiful art galleries and includes live piano music and a raffle. Tickets ($35) are on sale at the Library Information Desk (781-324-0218) and M&M Liquors (Please make checks payable to The Friends of the Malden Public Library.) Order wine and M&M Liquors will donate 10% of the proceeds to the Friends of the Malden Public Library! The library is handicapped-accessible. Last year tickets sold out so buy early!

If you love the Friends of the Library’s October book sale and wish you could support them by buying books more than once a year…now is your chance (and this time we mean it)! The new date, postponed because of last week’s blizzard, has been set. Saturday, March 2, 10AM – 5PM the Friends will be selling tasty treats and used books at fabulous prices.
If the sale is postponed from March 2 for another storm, the rain/snow date will be Saturday, March 9.

The Friends Team tied for 4th place out of 20 teams in this year’s Tripe Threat Trivia contest to benefit the library! The event was held Thursday, January 24th.
The Friends of the Malden Public Library invite you to cozy up with a good book from our Winter Mini Book & Bake Sale. Saturday, Februray 9, 10AM – 5PM in the Maccario Room at the library. Prices: $0.50 paperbacks, $1 hardcovers, 5/$1 kids.
Resolve to volunteer in 2013 and come join us from 7:30-9PM at the library! The Friends need new members with creative ideas on how to fundraise for the library’s needs and programs.
